Family First!

Each year we conduct numerous programs of interest and benefit to veterans, their families, and communities. These programs include Boys State, American Legion Baseball, High School Oratorical Contests, Bowling Tournaments, and Blood Donor Donations, just to name a few.

The American Legion’s success depends on membership, participation, and volunteerism. We belong to the people we serve and the community in which we thrive.

We meet at the Legion Club downstairs the 2nd Wednesday of each month, August-May.

Helping our community.

Williston’s American Legion Post #37, chartered in 1919, has a long history of supporting local veterans and the community. Over the past year the Edgar M Boyd Post #37:

  • Administered a Veterans Relief Program for $25,000

  • Conducted Memorial Day Ceremonies/Veterans Day Ceremonies

  • Presented Law Enforcement & EMT/Firefighter of the year awards

  • Represented veterans’ issues as a member of the Williston Military Affairs Committee

  • Sponsored an American Legion baseball team

  • Sponsored Legion Night at the Ballpark

  • Sponsored 2 high school junior delegates to attend Boys State Leadership Academy

  • Sponsored/Donated 4H, Opportunity Foundation, Eckerson Youth Home, Women’s Crisis Shelter, Upper Missouri Ministries, Operation Graduation, After Prom Party, Special Olympics, Bras for a Cause, Band Boosters, Nurses Scholarships, and many more activities.

  • Sponsored, cooked and served a meal for Teachers of Williston

  • In all over the years, Post 37 has given more than $1,000,000 back to our community.
